Hi! I am Christie Renee Esther Vanorsdale :)
As a seasoned Senior Instructional Designer, dedicated Teacher Educator, and committed Academic Researcher, my career spans diverse educational landscapes across South Korea, Turkey, and The United States since 2008. With a rich background in Psychology (B.A.), TESOL (M.Ed.), and a recent completion of my Ed.D. in Instructional Technology and Leadership from Duquesne University, Pennsylvania, my expertise lies at the intersection of education, technology, and leadership.
Throughout my journey, I've shared insights at various international and domestic conferences, delving into topics such as multimedia design principles for digitally enhanced learning and instructional best practices for English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners. My scholarly contributions extend to esteemed scientific journals, where I explore digital pedagogies and teacher education with a keen eye for innovation.
My passion for crafting immersive learning experiences ignited unexpectedly while developing an online English teacher training program for a university in Seoul, South Korea. Despite initial reservations, this challenge unveiled my innate talent and fervor for learning systems architecture. Today, I am deeply grateful for embracing that opportunity, as it paved the way for my fulfilling career path. From classroom teaching to the meticulous design of learning materials and environments, my journey epitomizes a fusion of passion, expertise, and relentless pursuit of educational excellence.
I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA but currently reside in Asheville, NC. I have a wonderful pup named Mister Pickles! We explore the Blue Ridge Mountains in our spare time and all the beauty that Western North Carolina has to offer!
